for women across the globe!
Although we are
all aware with the Indian Lungi and I’m sure each and every household has this
one piece of garment that gives the wearer a lot of ease and comfort.
LUNGI also known
as a sarong is the most comfortable yet simple outfit worn by men and women.
It is
particularly popular in regions where the heat and humidity create an
unpleasant climate for trousers. Depending on local tradition, lungis can be
worn by men and/or women. They are tied or fastened in various ways, and can be
used in different cultural activities, ranging from normal daily life to elaborate
wedding ceremonies.
From not just a piece of cloth worn in daily routine of life,
a Lungi has made its way from the local streets to make a blast on Bollywood’s
big screen too.

track, cutting across all the barriers, had reached every nook and corner of
nation.
It also has bagged a much-deserved music award and it has also won the
Most Popular Song On Radio too.
HOW IT CAN BE WORN?
There are various forms in which a Lungi can be draped, but
the simplest form is where the lungi is just draped around the waist and the
two ends are tied in a simple knot.
For daily
purposes, a simple "double twist" knot is most popular, where two
points in the upper edge of lungi are brought together and twisted around
twice, with the ends tucked in at the waist. However, it is also common for
wearers to simply tie a double "pretzel knot" from 2 points on the
upper border, which produces a more secure knot. The lungi's length can also be
adjusted, for example, by tucking in the lungi at the waist to make it resemble
a short skirt.
